Cannot connect x264 VfW and ffdshow filters
Trying to use x264 in DirectShow (WinXP, DX 9.0c), installed x264 rev600 and ffdshow rev654 clsid. Video source - webcam, then x264 encoder (from "Video Compressors" group). Tried to render encoder's output pin or manually connect encoder with "ffdshow MPEG-4 video decoder" - both failed. Can you pls explain what I'm doing wrong? thanks in advance

In ffdshow settings, make sure you allow it to connect to any filter. I think you can open the ffdshow video decoder configuration and go to the "Info and debug" section. From there, set the "multiple ffdshow instances" to "no limitations" and then try again. Hope this works!

Hi DeathTheSheep. Thanks for reply. I'm afraid this doesn't help. Deeper look shows that x264 DirectShow filter works incorrectly: trying to connect to another filter, no matter which one, x264 filter returns error. Do you have any idea?
