Hmm, that's odd. I'll see what I can do...
Reuploaded, and I see no problems now :)

corrupted again...

Use the la-*test*-('") version of WinRar--that might be the issue.
It works fine for me, again.
Maybe I should repack it with a different installer and host it elsewhere. I'll see what I can do :)

about the partition decision... Hi!
My first post and want to thank everyone here for the continuation of this codec in vfw.
But!
I have a question about the partition decision concerning your vfw release.
When I encode with your codec and choose RDO on b-frames (6b option) I notice that when the encoding is complete and I open the file in a text viewer such as total commanders lister I see that in the header info it says subme=6 and when I look at a file I encoded with megui's cli based encoder I see that the header is proper with subme=7 which is what I have chosen for both encodes... wondering if this is a bug?
DeathTheSheep- 02-25-2007
6b is as high as the VfW can go. This is really --subme 6 but with --b-rdo activated.

Can we expect a new vfw build of the upcoming revision 625 ?
Gilgamesh83- 02-26-2007
Thx DTS for the answer :) so I guess it wasn't a bug then hehe.

x264 627... Yo!
I've downloaded version 621 but since they have fixed the threading and cut-scene issue with x264 in 623 isn't it time a new version came out.... not being demanding or anything since I'm currently using the cli version in conjunction with avc2avi_gui to make avi files. This works wonderfully well and since the cli encoder supports more features it works out fine. Oh and read somewhere how you encode animated content and tried my own way and came up with a way to ensure that editing avi files is really simple.
Since I use the cli with megui one can only enter maxkeyframe as 999 this is how i encode: cabac=1 ref=5 deblock=1:1:1 analyse=0x3:0x133 me=umh subme=7 brdo=1 mixed_ref=1 me_range=16 chroma_me=1 trellis=1 8x8dct=1 cqm=0 deadzone=21,11 chroma_qp_offset=0 threads=1 nr=0 decimate=0 mbaff=0 bframes=5 b_pyramid=1 b_adapt=1 b_bias=0 direct=1 wpredb=1 bime=1 keyint=999 keyint_min=1 scenecut=100 rc=2pass bitrate=650 ratetol=1.0 rceq='blurCplx^(1-qComp)' qcomp=0.60 qpmin=15 qpmax=51 qpstep=4 cplxblur=20.0 qblur=0.5 ip_ratio=1.40 pb_ratio=1.30
This makes sure that all keyframes are always at a scenecut making editing out op and ed in animes great. It also doesn't increase the number of keyframes at all compared to the default settings and this gets me better encoding results.

Hey, DeathTheSheep, the Standard WfV version of the codec is still corrupted. In fact, I can't even download it fully and have tried countless times now... Could you please repackage it or something, please?

6b is as high as the VfW can go. This is really --subme 6 but with --b-rdo activated.
Since the CLI can now go up to 7, will the next VfW build be able to do -subme 7?
goukilord- 04-16-2007
when will we(VFW addicts  ) will have a new version ?
its pretty much outdated now the VFW version here.
at last tell us that your working on one :)
cause no way im switching to CLI i encode with the same setting of the VFW
at ~1fps while in vfw um getting ~5-7fps and same quality and almost same file size

Now.
Check the main page (http://DeathTheSheep.Uni.cc/) for the May 10 version. It's based off of revision 655 of x264, but the decoder went through many updates, improvements, and stability checks as well.
Plenty of new features in this one, and I'll have to update my guide soon, right? :)
