SMP/Hyperthreading support
First I really want to say thank you for this great build of x264 for VFW. I was begining to feel desperate, as if I'm the only one who still rely on VFW. These releases are great, thanks!!! However, I am using a Core2Duo processor, and it seems that the codec uses only half the processor power to encode, meaning no multithreading/SMP support. If you add this support (I believe it just means changing an option in the compiler), most of the newer processors will be able to encode twice as fast, which is of great importance, of course. Just a suggestion... Keep on the good work!

also in vdub all filters (avs or vdub internal) allready run on a separate thread so enabling max threads in x264 can sometimes slow the process. Your mileage may vary :)

What about quad-core support? Can x264vfw work without issue on quadcore machine?

I hope it wasn't a silly question, I didn't have the time yet to go through all X264 options. After I enabled 2 threads, I got an increase of about 50-80% compared to single thread! Thank you very much for the info, and for the tips! Taking into consideration that I get with x264 the best results with the smallest bitrates, now that the codec has a vfw version (hopefully it will continue to update), and have multithreading support, I think all my videos encoding will use this codec, once I get use to it. Thanks a lot.
