Some comments and suggestion for this forum.
Hi DTS. First of all, congratulations for your excellent work in x264 VfW. Your guide is awesome, the only reliable source of documentation for x264 VfW out there. And now the new builds sounds as a siren to me. This post is because I want to ask you why this black background color with so small fonts (I am using 22'' monitor with 1400x1050). I am trying too much and too hard to read a single post and I can't even see the quotes, due to darkness. I think that many other people would agree with me. Why don't you change the color and set a larger font? I consider this (the legible text) as a "must". Anyway, do you have a donation function somewhere? Yesterday, I was so happy that I was ready to donate 20 euros without any hesitance. I believe that many people like me, who know what is happening in Doom9 in regard to x264, would like to show their appreciation to you for your decision to keep working (or start working?) on the legendary VfW! We should all help keeping VfW alive for having much more options available in our hands. Life is so beautiful today... PS: Why the new 600 rev don't report its number in Add/Remove panel? Until yesterday, I was having the la-*test*-('") rev573 and now just says "x264 VFW". Is it because it doesn't come from www.x264.nl ?

I agree with you, har-vas. Larger fonts is a "must".

Hmm, then larger fonts it is! Expect a site update sometime this week :) The layout is expected to change quite dramatically. Donation? I'm not quite sure how to set that up, but I do appreciate the thanks! :) PS: This is probably the only place you'll be seeing x264 VfW builds from now on. :)

OK, thank you, DTS. New look is awesome.

Hi DTS. I would like to ask you about the new support system. First of all, is it a donation system? If yes, I think that I can't donate, because I live in Europe. Anyway, I don't really understand its basic idea. Why don't you add an alternative one, like PayPal, with a direct credit card payment? We need to build a united community, where everybody will help. As for the forum's layout, personally I would prefer a brighter background color (black makes the read harder). The font size is OK now, but it would look even better with a lighter background color. Lastly, I would like to ask you about the translation of your guide. I am thinking of it seriously (what about adding a special sticky thread for that?). How easy would be for me to translate it? As easy as editing your html file by replacing your english -*test*-('") with greek? I saw that the chinese guy just used a Word document to add your pictures. Do you have any special requirements? Thanks.

Hi, glad you noticed :) Well, I'm thinking of going Paypal... It's more of an experimental thing, just seeing how many people click. But I think you're right :) As for translation, yes--anything will work. PDF, Word document, html... In fact, html is actually the best way to go; a simple changing of the existing words in the original html file to other languages is probably the easiest and the cleanest :)
